REFLECTION

MOBILIZATION / COMMUNICATION

DRUGS smoking in academy of fine arts (with ceiling painting) = vandalism? what's the sense of everybody always being stoned? non-smoking places happily accepted by non-smokers passive pot smoking in workshops = has to be discussed

NOISE / DISTURBANCES parties / noise in sleeping rooms

VANDALISM / ARTISTIC SPACE RECLAIM 1,5 cars burned down

CONTACT / INTERACTION WITH POLICE / SOCIETY / „STRANGERS“ (commercial stuff) IN UNIVERSITY

COUNTERSUMMIT

workshop (structure) one protocol for a central (website-based) collection of „outputs“/happings distinguis between workshops with the purpose of giving/hearing (new) input and workgroups (who might even already know each other because they are the continuation of former summits' groups) clearly indicate purpose of workshops: just giving input / lecture intention = outputs? / thinktank? provide a „manual“ for workshops in what ways they could work / design their course

panels choice of speakers weird: few students represented seems that „exotic“ people were chosen instead of „representative“ people more running/wireless microphones better translation facilities / equipment (these things can most easily be financed by official [culture support] grants or be borrowed) many repetitive things being said > try to get people to not repeat their positions over and over once they have been criticised too much (self) shoulder clapping statistics / jubilee announcements / self-shoulder clapping about our event has been missing on final panel (e.g.: „we had 15000000 participants, no arrests, achieved XYZ, spent 40000€ and collected 324560498373€ donations, etc.!!!!“)

barcamp put available space for barCamp into the same spot as the board with spontanious events --> both preferably at the most central place or close to it would have big potential, if well organised prepare and provide information BEFORE the event readers / animated videos / flyers / color systems condensed, but necessary space central coordination board

exchange forum had an output! even though quality is judged differently to those who came in later, it wasn't clear that a topic list had been prepared and that a specific topic was in discussion

spacial oganisation try to avoid long distances between rooms / spaces acustics in big lecture halls totally unsuitable for workshops or discussion rounds old lecture halls and most rooms designed in a way that doesn't provide space for discussions or mutual (non-frontal) knowledge exchange

time-specific organisation parallellity of workshops/barCamp/exchangeforum was problematic maybe better have everything on consecutive days apart from each other timetables preferably online as well > need to thoroughly harmonize paper timetables and online version!!! (difficult)

kick-off instead of a panel, plena for topic-finding would be recommendable >> workshops/workgroups/topics would automatically evolve out of that and fill the next days with content

structures / behaviour rules / speaking rules and signs heterogenity/plurality of the „movement“ took away much time, in which structures and rules had be discussed for ever workshop/round/etc. (from the beginning) even though it took much time, having ACHIEVED consensuses about rules each time is a strength of our movement! provide information about existing options of communication signs and rules (media to be discussed; e.g. animation, reader, posters on walls of event centre) use „blokadna kuharica“ (blockade cookbook) from zagreb, which contains much information on concrete behaviour and organisation

infrastructure

food

accomodation

carsharing / ridesharing

café transnational

room / way indication system ONE design and way of displaying / naming rooms and ways use the same colors for arrows for rooms as colors for workshops on workshop list symbols: examples (B) [B in circle with chalk on the floor] for barCamp or (S) for sociology department

participation of preparation from other places in advance

ACTIONS: DEMO / BLOCKADES / ROOM SQUATTINGS

blockade system keep double system of FUNKGERäTE and mobile phones preparation prepare flag carries: briefing keeping mobile phones and flags together decision taking actions breaking police blockades with a small number of officers were not as „efficiently“ working (did not take place...) arrests arrest of clowns

room squattings (e.g. NIG lecture hall on night before summit) differing opinions

OUTCOMES / RESULTS

new website (3 pillars) multi-content feed display social community wiki > promote! use for documentation and outcomes and comments of/on bolognaburns.wien

personal impressions / emotional connectedness / inspirations / kick for (fresh) motivation

CLEAR RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVED ORGANISATION OF FUTURE MEETINGS

COMMUNICATION / COORDINATION between groups organising events and groups making direct actions (e.g. spontanious squattings VS guarantee of organised summit rooms) publish budget / make visible what has been spent on what (online!)
